3 Day Trauma
Healing Intensives

Healing the Trauma That Fuels Our Dysfunction
Next workshop for women: August 2025. Next session for men (Fall 2025)

Authentic Hope offers a three-day Intensive Trauma-Healing Workshop which investigates the origins of adult dysfunctional behaviors. In this life-changing educational and experiential workshop, participants learn to identify the childhood wounds which fuel adult dysfunction, i.e.: depression, anxiety, addictions, eating disorders and relationship difficulties.

The focus of this work is not on blaming caregivers; but rather healing the imprints left from any neglectful or less-than-nurturing events in our lives. It's not enough to be able to identify and name our trauma. In this workshop, we actually do the work to set us free from the injuries and patterns that have kept us trapped in unhealthy behaviors.

The workshop is based upon the ground-breaking work of Pia Mellody and utilizes her treatment model (Post induction therapy). We can't change what happened in our past. But we can intervene upon ourselves to repair the imprints and wounds from our past.

The Workshop Includes The Following Phases:

Psycho-Educational Phase - During this informational phase, participants will learn about boundaries and how, for us as a child, boundaries were possibly violated or neglected. Participants will begin to understand the relationship between the hurts of childhood and adult dysfunctional behaviors.

Debriefing Phase - This phase consists of delving into the past and recollecting less-than-nurturing and/or abusive/ neglectful childhood experiences and identifying associated feelings.

Experiential Phase - Guided by the therapist through a series of specific processes developed by Pia Mellody, participants will identify and begin to heal childhood wounds. In this safe and nurturing environment, clients release painful emotions and reclaim personal power.

Ongoing Recovery and Empowerment Strategies - Participants will receive a set of strategies, tools, and resources to make permanent these empowering principles in their daily lives. We will walk away with tools that will be able to address and resolve triggers as they come up day-to-day.

After-Care Follow-Up Support- The work doesn't end when the workshop is over. At Authentic Hope, we provide after-care support options for ongoing issues and questions that may come up in the days and weeks that follow the intensive. This can be done in a group or individual setting.

Intensive FAQs:

The Intensive:

3 full days (9am-5pm), typically held on a Thurs-Sat. It will be limited to 3-4 participants, and 2 facilitators.  In addition to the trauma work, participants will engage in somatic healing & mindfullness exercises, and receive plenty of brain/body breaks throughout the day (including  break for lunch which we provide). As we do difficult work, we immediately process it somatically as to not re-traumatize ourselves. This is truly a healing workshop-- not merely a cognitive or informational session.

Each day will end with containment exercises to help you transition out of the healing space.

Before the Intensive:

Participants will be required to engage in a free 30 minute consultation with the facilitator prior to registration to ensure this intensive is a good fit.

The Cost:
The cost of the workshop is $1500 plus lodging. This service is not billable to your insurance (though we can work with you have your insurance reimburse a portion). You may pay the amount in full at the time of registration, or make three installments of $500 up to one week prior to the intensive weekend. A light breakfast and full lunch is included for each day of the intensive.

We estimate the cost of doing this same work outside of an intensive may cost a minimum of $3360 in regular one-hour sessions.

Why an Intensive:
Sometimes one hour at a time just isn’t enough. Clients might find that it feels like they are slowly chipping away at the bigger issue. An intensive workshop allows participants to get 3 full days of uninterrupted time to process and engage with the work they are focusing on.

Participating an intensive can capture in three days the work it might otherwise take a minimum of 6 months to achieve.

Why a Group:
Healing our core wounds can be difficult and confusing. As we work within a group, we can learn from observing others model the process. Doing the work in community helps us to shed the shame we may carry from years of our own dysfunction. In group we are comforted in knowing we are not alone.
